Installation
srtshift is a single static binary with no runtime dependencies. Pick whichever route fits your machine.
Linux and macOS
The install script detects your platform, downloads the matching binary and puts it on your PATH:
curl -sSL https://srtshift.org/get.sh | sh
Prefer to place it yourself? Download the archive for your platform, unpack it, and move the binary into a directory on your path:
# example: linux, x86-64
tar xzf srtshift_linux_amd64.tar.gz
sudo mv srtshift /usr/local/bin/
Windows
Download srtshift_windows_amd64.zip, unpack it, and either run srtshift.exe from its folder or add that folder to your PATH.
From source
With a recent Go toolchain:
go install srtshift.org/cmd/srtshift@latest
The binary lands in $(go env GOPATH)/bin. Make sure that directory is on your path.
Check it works
srtshift --version
srtshift 1.4.0
No subtitle file to test on? Any
.srt you already have works. Run srtshift +0s file.srt to parse and re-emit it unchanged — if that prints a clean file, your install is good.
